i was going to wait to post about Kalob's graduation until i could get my pictures working... but, i have been just too lazy... so.. here ya go with just the exciting news... Kalob is officially a correctional officer! my parents, kalobs parents, brother and sister and i all went to Tucson Friday morning to see my hubby graduate! we got there and were able to have a little tour of the complex, we got to see where their classroom was where they spent at least 7 hrs a day and had to take a test every week, where they slept (and had annoying roommates that snore louder than a bear!.. not kidding), where they had to run a mile and a half under 14 minutes every week and do a certain amount of push-ups and sit-ups, where they got qualified for a hand gun, where they learned self-defense and got the crap kicked out of them, and also where they got to kick the crap out of their partner, where they got to be gassed by a gas baum, and last but definitely not least, got pepper sprayed by someone point blank to his eyes!!!!(there was so much more but i cant remember everything) so my question is now... why would anyone knowing all of this WANT to go to this training??? well... i will never know, but all i do know is that MY hubby went. was put through all of this and more. and graduated at the top of his class. he excelled at everything he did and made me more proud then he will ever know!! kalob was awarded the "PROFESSIONALISM" award. this award is given to the person in the class that showed the most leadership, hard work, and well professionalism. it was such an honor to be able to call HIM MINE! i had the privilege and honor to pin his badge onto his uniform and make it official! i didn't cry just yet considering there were cameras every where! but i was just so dang proud. i was so nervous i was going to stick him with the pin (like on our wedding day) but i didn't... thank goodness!! the graduation went so well and i was doing SO good with my emotions, but then it hit, one of their classmates gave a talk and he talked about their families and how it was because of everyone in that room that they graduated. and oh man did i cry... but i hid it pretty well i had thought until my loving mother put her arm around me and gave me that "its OK sweety" squeeze. so i guess i didn't hide it very well.. ha so after many pictures (i will post soon) and hugs i FINALLY got my big hug and kiss i had been waiting for. and then came the BIG sigh of relief... he was DONE!!!!!
yes.. it was SO hard having him away from me for 9 weeks, only seeing him on the weekends. but all in all it made our relationship and our love for each other grow SO much. yes... i shed quite a few tears, had a couple break downs, was at the in-laws ALOT, had my daddy come get me, and got many pats on the back and hugs...I was so thankful for the family and friends that were supporting us. i couldn't have done it with out them!!
but in the end i found myself thanking my heavenly father for such a great blessing and for such a strong husband! i look up to Kalob very much! i have become a better person having him as my hubby. he has taught me so much and made me realize how blessed we really are. he can do what ever he puts his mind to, he is a friend to everyone he meets, he is SO patient (especially w me! ;) ) has a great personality, he is great with kids, is very determined (wants the best for his family) VERY hard worker, honors his priesthood, and loves me for ME! i am SO blessed to have him in my life and to grow old with!
